Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Open Range and Mesa Ridge?

Open Range and Mesa Ridge are both towable RV lines made by Highland Ridge. Both lines offer floorplans that are lightweight, luxurious and comfortably sleep large groups.

Open Range and Mesa Ridge offer different interior designs and decor, graphics and dealer availability may vary based on location.

What are the benefits of a fifth wheel over a travel trailer?

Fifth wheels’ bi-level designs make for spacious, residential-living and storage. When compared to travel trailers, you’ll generally find more full-size and full-function home-like features and generous outdoor storage for large gear. Ceiling heights are higher, towing can be more stable because weight is centered between the axles and closer to the cab. If you’re planning to tow something, like an ATV, small boat or car, fifth wheels have a leg up over travel trailers.

Can Highland Ridge Fifth Wheels be used year-round?

Sure, you can. Many of our fifth wheels feature elaborate heating systems that are designed to direct heat where it’s needed most and to keep air flowing. Insulation in the roof, floor and in the underbelly where a dedicated duct allows for continuous heat flow near tanks. This creates an incredible amount of effective insulating. No matter the RV, be sure you understand how to protect your fluids and systems from the effects of freezing temperatures. If freezing damage does occur, be sure to reference your warranty to see what’s covered.
